Members gathered in Pat Paul’s home on September 13 to launch our new AAUW year. Co-Presidents’ Sharon and Molly welcomed new and returning members, and VP Sharon H gave an overview of the coming programs. Jane let us in on the details of the much-awaited plan for this year’s film fundraiser, which will be held at the Oakdale Bianchi Center next month. Then we were treated to an update by our special former Tech Trekker Jessica Arauza, who attended the NCCCWSL conference in Washington DC this summer. Jessica wowed us with her experiences, which included hearing Chelsea Clinton speak. She stressed the importance of mentoring, and shared lessons learned at the conference on that topic. It was a special pleasure to have Jessica’s family present.
