Dear Members and Prospective Members,

We are a busy and active group in our communities of Oakdale, Riverbank and Escalon.  Our backgrounds and experiences vary, but we come together with shared interests and goals.

AAUW’s mission is to advance gender equity for women and girls through research, education, and advocacy.  Affiliation with AAUW gives women a voice in government and other world issues such as equal pay, fair tenure, and women’s health.  Our Tech Trek Program encourages young girls to develop an interest in science, technology , engineering and math (STEM).  With Speech Trek, now in it’s last year, we provide a venue for high school students to perfect their public speaking skills.  Our College Scholarship Program paves the way for women to attend a college or university.  We are especially proud of our mentoring program; our members encourage and mentor Tech Trek girls through high school and beyond.

Our general meetings from September to May feature a variety of speakers.  Book Group meets in members homes from September to May also.  On-the-Go Group cultivates friendships as we get out and about with each other, visiting various points of interest in the area.

We strive to strengthen partnerships with other community-based organizations such as Friends of the Library, Soroptimist’s and the League of Women Voters.

We look forward to meeting you and providing a warm and personal welcome at our next meeting.
